Frequently asked question

Why cold brew?

Although we love all coffee, cold brewed coffee produces an extra smooth and less acidic coffee experience. The cold brewing process extracts less acidity than its hot-brewed counterpart. The resulting taste has less bite and more balanced flavors.

how long does it last?

Cold brew is always best fresh and we make sure the freshest product is on the shelves at all times. Our product is good for six weeks refrigerated and once opened should be consumed within two to three days.

what is the northern bayou?

When Ben and Amanda moved to Vermont in 2012 they were lucky enough to live in a beautiful 1800’s farmhouse sitting on 16 acres of land. This was far different from what they knew previously living in New York City. Sitting out back by the pond during the balmy Summer nights and listening to the peepers was reminiscent of the feeling and sounds that come with being in Louisiana by the bayou. A large part of Amanda’s family roots come from Baton Rouge, LA. One night they decided to name the house “The Northern Bayou” and the rest is history.

how strong is it?

NBCB is brewed as a concentrate — an 8 oz bottle will make 2 cups of standard strength coffee. You can certainly drink it straight, we do! To dilute, pour over ice and add water or milk to taste.
